STORY:

It begins with a prologue by Landon Carter at 57. Landon is about to graduate from high school when the rest of the story takes place.
Landon lives in Beaufort, North Carolina, a small, religious town. He is the son of a genial, charismatic congressman.

Brandon Carter is an unruly boy who is sullen, directionless, and reckless. The whole thing began with him going to the homecoming ball with a date. Else, he has to show up with his mom as his date, he would prefer to die instead. As a consequence, he asked Jamie, the last person on earth anyone would ask.

But what began as a necessity ended up becoming a constant desire. Having been in Jamie’s company once repented him. Jamie is such a sweetie, who could possibly resist her? It was just a matter of pleasing her. In the end, he is deeply in love with her.

Landon meets Jamie Sullivan – the nicest girl ever (in every sense). The activities after school and rehearsals force him to spend time with her. The Bible is her ultimate devotion and she reads it at every opportunity, whether she’s at the lunch table or on her front porch in the evenings.

Even though they are thrown together by misfortune, Landon falls madly in love with her. However, when he discovers Jamie has a secret, he knows he will lose his heart when she refuses to let anyone too close to her. The more one reads, one can’t help but agree with Landon that Jamie would perfectly fit that description. The end result depends on who’s by your side, as Sparks says.

REVIEW OF THE BOOK A WALK TO REMEMBER:

A Walk to Remember to be an excellent autumn novel.

Reading this book would be a good experience. It seems like a very ordinary love story, but it has an unusual ending. The novel follows the adage “opposites attract”. Its presentation, however, is what gives it, its true essence. No matter where the story goes, from the beginning of the Prologue to the end, you’ll not feel disconnected at any moment of time.

Throughout the novel, there is a great deal of depth to the characters. In Jamie’s character, there is a sense of divinity. A teenager’s quest for “coolness” and validation often involves disengagement from parental authority, moral values, and/or spiritual beliefs.

In order to fulfill her dreams, Jamie Sullivan must hold on to her faith, father, and values. She doesn’t compromise. Never does she veer off course. In the process, she exerts great influence on everyone around her (after all, she is the one responsible for Landon’s drastic change).

Landon, on the other hand, is portrayed as an individual who goes through a great deal of change throughout the novel. There is a sad tone to the story’s background, which enhances its impact.

In his uncluttered prose, Nicholas Sparks tells fateful love stories and fables of the road less traveled.

Once you’ll start reading this novel, you will not be able to detach from it quite easily.
