Mimi Movie Story
The story is about Mimi a small-town girl aspiring to be an actress. She is approached by Bhanu with an offer to be a surrogate mother for an American Couple. In return for 20 lakh rupees (2 Million).
She accepts the offer and shifts with her friend in a different (Momaiden) society with Bhanu as her husband. Because, she cannot tell her parents about it and a single pregnant lady is not something which the society loves to see. Things mess up when the couple denies having that baby after few months and asks her to abort the child.
She refuses to do it and eventually her parents get to know about her pregnancy. After continuous interrogation from her family, she takes the name of Bhanu as the father of the child. This brings a hilarious turn to the movie.
The story of the movie looks similar to a Bollywood movie named Chori Chori Chupke Chukpe (2001). Starring Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, and Rani Mukharji. It came out in 2001 and the movie was not accepted by the audience wholeheartedly. The theme of the movie for that time was way too much to absorb in. It was difficult for people to take it in that something like surrogacy can be an option for couples.
But the plot twist of Mimi is different. It is an adaptation of the Marathi Film Mala Aai Vhhaychy! (2010).

A gem indeed. Though the movie is an adaptation of the famous Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy (2010) (and an original is an original).
But, we get to witness some wonderful performances with the release of the Mini movie 2021.
With Mimi, Kriti Sanon gives a mind-blowing performance. She proves her capabilities that she is more than just a commercial movie star.
Pankaj Tripathi will just steal your heart. There is this simplicity in his performance that always wins your heart.
The leads perform well when the supporting cast is strong.
We also see the Mimi movie to follow the current trend, that is to present some social issues with comic reliefs. It is repeatedly shown in the movie that after every serious scene there is a comic break.
It is a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
The story Mimi movie 2021 is true to its source to the fullest. It’s going strong with 8.2 IMDb ratings.
Themes in the Movie Mimi 2021:
Surrogacy: The entire movie is based on this theme. How an aspiring actress agrees to a surrogate mother for an American couple. And, how they deny taking the child. Thing the child has downs syndrome.
Abortion: Knowing that the child has downs syndrome and it’ll be difficult for her to raise them all by herself. Mimi still decides to keep the child.
Society: In every scene of this movie, you’ll see some of the other people commenting. The only reason why she wants to hide this situation.
Friends: Her unbreakable support system is her friend Shama. Always there with her in good and bad. The bond becomes stronger as time pass by and joined by Bhanu.
Family: The last resort, but constant support. Though, Mimi had planned to hide everything from her family. The situation turns out in such a way she has no other option.
Sacrifice: In the end, she is left with two choices either to peruse her dream of becoming an actress or to raise the child.
Adoption: This is the final most theme of the movie. (Not going to spill the beans)
